Overnight Camp-Ins

Due to COVID-19, there will be no camp-ins this year.
To learn more about virtual program options, please click here.

Groups of children aged 9-12 can experience soldier life and actually spend a night in the soldiers’ bunks in one of our authentically restored barrack rooms!

Camp-ins begin at 4 PM.
Groups spend the night in wooden bunks (don’t forget to bring sleeping bags!) and sleep 2 kids per bed.

Camp-In Activities Include:
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Recruit, musket demonstration, and intro to 18th century camp life
  • Tour of Officers’ House
  • Light Dinner & Breakfast
  • Campfire
  • Choice of program: Uniforms & Clothing, Child's Play, Woman's Point of View, African American Experience, Of Arms and Men, Cooking Stew in a Camp Kitchen
Programs can be customized to meet the needs of your group.

Camp-ins can have a maximum of 30 people.  A minimum of three adults per group is required.
Camp-ins are $950 for up to 24 people. Additional campers (up to 30 total) are $35 each.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required 3 weeks after booking.
There are a total of six sets of bunks.  Soldiers slept two to each bed, four to each bunk, and 12 to each room. Campers sleep in the same arrangement, with the floor used for additional campers and adults. Visitors should bring their sleeping bags and a pillow.
Keeping with the “adventure” idea, many activities will be conducted outdoors, except in severe weather. Please dress accordingly.
There are modern restroom facilities, but no showering facilities.
Programs are offered select Friday and Saturday nights in March - June and September - October.

To reserve, please email groups@barracks.org or call 609-396-1776.

After breakfast, we suggest your group arrange tours with the 1719 William Trent House, the New Jersey State House, the New Jersey State Museum, Princeton Battlefield, Washington Crossing State Parks, or Pennsbury Manor.
