Annus Mirabilis – A Musical Celebration of the Year of MiraclesTuesday, December 26
7 PM Old Barracks Museum 101 Barrack Street, Trenton, NJ The Practitioners of Musick perform a selection of music written to celebrate the victories of the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War with a focus on Trenton’s involvement in each. “Annus Mirabilis” translates as “Year of Miracles” or “Miraculous Year” and it referred to 1759 when Great Britain enjoyed a series of major victories around the World, including North America (Western PA; Upstate NY; Quebec; Madras in India; off the coast of France; on the European Continent, in the Caribbean) that would change the trajectory of World history even today. The music featured in this performance includes pieces celebrating these victories that have not been performed in decades - if not centuries. This intimate performance is limited to 40 tickets. Light refreshments will be served. |
