Alaphabet sampler with two people and a floral border.

Amanda Malvina Oliphant (1808-1852) was the daughter of Shinn Oliphant (1765-1839) and his wife Hope Eayre (1767-1839). She was one of eleven children and the second youngest child. On April 1, 1832, Amanda married Charles Collins, a merchant, and together they had one daughter, Mary E. Collins. After Amanda died at the age of 46, Mary kept house for her father until his death in 1878 and never married.

Amanda was the aunt of one of the founding members of the Old Barracks Association, Beulah Ann Oliphant, through Amanda's brother Joseph.
