Directions

The Old Barracks is located in downtown Trenton, next to the New Jersey State House, and is easily accessible. Parking information is provided by Trenton Downtown Association.

From North:
I-95 to Rt. 29 South to Calhoun Street exit. At end of ramp, make a right at the traffic light onto West State Street. Make the first right onto Barrack Street. The Old Barracks is on the right. At the traffic light just past the Barracks (Lafayette Street), make a right into the Capitol Complex Parking Area. Get visitors pass at Guard's shack.

Alternately, NJ Turnpike to exit 7A (Trenton/Shore Points). Rt. 195 West to Rt. 29 North, going through tunnel and exiting at Calhoun Street. Follow directions as per above.

From West or Pa.:
Penn. Turnpike, I-95 or Rt. 13 to Rt. 1 into N.J. Take first exit (Rt. 29 N) after toll bridge; proceed on Rt. 29 N to Calhoun Street and follow directions as per above.

From East:
From I-295 (Exit 60) or I-195 West: 195 West becomes Rt. 29 North. Follow signs for 29 North, going through tunnel and exiting at Calhoun Street. Follow directions as per above.

From South:
From N.J. Turnpike to Exit 7A (Trenton/Shore Points). Rt. 195 West to Rt. 29 North. Follow directions as per above.

From Rt. 295 (Exit 60) or Rt. 130 to Rt. 195 West. Rt. 195 becomes Rt. 29 North. Follow signs for 29 North, going through tunnel and exiting at Calhoun Street. Follow directions as per above.

 

NJ TRANSIT offers service on the River Line to Trenton Station and can connect with any Capital Connection bus (601, 606, 608, 609) for service to the Old Barracks Museum.  Passengers should get off at West State Street, far side of the Willow Street bus stop and walk 1/2 block south to the museum.
