Camp Ins
For organized youth groups, scout troops and other organized groups, The Old Barracks now offers a unique new way to live history: the camp in!
- Arrive at the Old Barracks in the late afternoon on Friday or Saturday.
- "Meet the Past" via our First Person interpretive programs, complete with several costumed interpreters.
- Watch an historic weapons demonstration.
- Partake of a soldier's "Common Pot" of stew, cooked over an open fire (weather permitting).
- Tour the museum.
- Participate in a period craft activity.
- Spend the night in the barracks.
- Eat a "Continental's breakfast.
Requirements
- Group size: minimum 24, maximum 30. A minimum of 3 adults per group.
- Price: $33/person inclusive.
- A 25% non-refundable fee is due two weeks after you set your date. There are a total of 6 sets of bunks.
- Soldiers slept two to a bunk. We offer the same arrangement. There is additional floor space for adults.
- Visitors must bring their own sleeping bags and pillows.
- This is an adventure opportunity that happens rain or shine.
- Many activities will be conducted outdoors please dress appropriately. There are modern restroom facilities but no showers.
- Dates are available most Friday/Saturday Nights late March through June and September through October.
- Bring flash lights
Bring snacks if desired and dinners for those on restricted diets.
