Old Barracks Museum Celebration of the construction fo the barracks 250 years ago
May 31st-June 1st, Celebration of the construction of the barracks 250 years ago. Demonstrations of the many construction techniques used in building the Barracks, led by Bill Schliecher, a restoration carpenter along with the Barracks staff and reenactors. Visitors may participate. Programs by the guest lecturers; Dr. Richard Hunter, archeologist, on the archeology of the Barracks and its 18th century neighborhood and Robert A. Petito, Jr. AIA, historical architect, on the building and its initial construction in 1758. Building tours. Bread baking in the Barracks colonial clay oven.
